  3. Start OCR as soon as scanning completes

    OCR can take some time, depending on the size of the job. Scanning lots of documents could be accelerated if OCR commenced immediately upon completing the scan, rather than waiting on user input to "Save and New" or "Save and Close" etc. If the scan is deleted or repeated by the user, I'm sure the computer won't mind the wasted OCR effort, but workflows will be faster.

  4. Add fields for action dates and destruction dates with search capability and reminders

    These features would go a long way to making paperless a more viable option. Often a document is received which needs action at a future date (e.g. an invoice). Even if it is scanned, the hard copy is kept around as a reminder to deal with it at some time in the future. If there were reminders (which worked with task managers such as Outlook even) which prompted some action for a particular document, the hard copy could be discarded right away.

    Also, as the repository fills up, many documents become obsolete and get in the way. If a destruction…

  5. Provide some form of linking with QuickBooks

    I like QuickBooks. It's an ecellent accounting package. I know that this would be a proprietary feature, but I'm looking for something which would allow me to easily tag entries in QuickBooks with a scanned document - an invoice, for instance.

  6. Customizable screen layouts

    Currently layout is fixed.

    The ability to move/close or adjust sections, add them to tabs etc...

  7. PDF preview pane

    Option to have a document preview pane window in the main layout for those who for whatever reason don't want this feature..

    Example of a current workflow

    • Click on Advanced search, because the regular search is nonsense.

    • Double click on a result

    • Window pops up with document for preview

    • Close window

    • Look for another file.

    With a preview window you can quickly go through your results...

  8. Export documents in multiple folders by label or document name pattern

    I want to export my files in a predefined folder. (That is now possible)
    But all files should be written into a defined subfolders.

    e.g. All files labeled with taxes should be automaticaly stored in a subfolder taxes

    or I name my files with a special pattern
    e.g. company - year - type
    While export I can define a pattern to store the exported files in subfolders.

  9. Add an Undo option

    Just like any other application, CTRL+Z to undo the last action. For example, if I applied a label by mistake, undo will remove it.

  10. Include a Details view

    In addition to having thumbnail view, I'd love it if there was a Details list view (similar to Details view in Windows Explorer). This would make it much quicker/easier to navigate (scroll) through many records. Plus, if the user could then click on any of the column headings to sort ascending/descending that would be excellent! :)

  12. Allow more document identifier information

    Right now you have Name, Date, Comments, and Labels. I would like the ability to add further source information about the document.

    I use this to maintain a large collection of articles. It would be nice to be able to include as fields the Author and Publication Name (i.e., magazine or journal where the article was published).

    BTW, I love the relational database idea (i.e., labels) rather than standard directory structure used by the other programs I've tried. However, I do miss the ability to add further source information. While I could use labels for journal name, it just isn't…

  13. One-click multi-labelling

    I quite often have documents which I want in multiple categories. An example might be to have a tax receipt requiring a label of 'tax', a label of 'State' and 'Federal'. 3 labels.
    It would be nice to have a facility to click once and assign all 3 in one -shot.
    Could be defined as hyper-labelling on common scanned documents.
    Saves time and mainly errors when entering the document.

  14. File by Email or eDoc Inbox

    Many of my bills now come as emails I use gmail and would like to be able to just setup a rule that will forward them to my cloud organizer. This would give you support of any pop email application or service and make archiving important information a much less manual process.

  16. Automatically Link document dates to Year/Month tags

    Connect the date field of the document that I type to the Year and Month Label. The automatic label reading of the document isn't always accurate. The date I type will be.

  20. Enabling Server side folder monitors

    Server side folder monitoring would streamline this product. Many users might not want to run the client during the entire business day to keep the database current with newly added documents.
