  1. Provide public API compatible with Zapier, IFTTT, etc.

    Allowing customers to integrate their eDO Cloud Edition account with their other online accounts/services would be a terrific enhancement.
    The easiest way to do it would be via an API and the use of Zapier and/or IFTTT.
    This could allow new documents to be added to eDO (including tags), and also allow eDO to trigger actions - for example, when a new document is added to and tagged in eDO, Zapier could automatically store a copy of the document in Google Drive; if a document in eDO is given a tag of "XYZ", Zapier could create a Trello card with…

  2. Support export to Evernote

    eDoc Organizer is excellent at organizing files using Tags. It isn't intended to be a direct competitor to systems like Evernote - but supporting the use of Evernote might attract a lot of new eDO customers.
    Evernote supports the use of Tags, but their system is rubbish compared to eDO. It is the most under-developed/under-supported feature of Evernote.
    Enabling users to use eDO to process files (scanned documents, for example), using eDO to assign tags to each document, and then support the export of documents out of eDO and into Evernote - crucially, with their tags - at the click…

  3. After merging multiple PDFs provide some indicator with the thumbnail view showing the merged singles such as a border or smaller size thumb

    When I merge I do not always remember to delete the single PDFs that made up the merge. Some indicator with the thumbnail to indicate the PDF has been merged into another doc would be helpful. Also the singles and not the merged PDF should be checked to make deleating the singles easier.

  4. All help and knowledge base is old

    Why is there no information on the New versions on you help site? You conned me into buying it now you just leave it with the version you said you don't support anymore. Funny how that happens.

  7. Allow User Selection of Database and Scanned Files Locations

    This is for the On-Premise edition of eDoc Organizer. It would be great if, during install, the user can chose the location of the database, and also during scanning, be able to choose the storage location of the scanned files. I personally don't like storing any kind of data on drive C: unless I have to.

  8. Suggest labels from the name of the scanned document

    Hi Gus,

    I'm really liking the program but I'm finding it tedious to have to assign labels to documents. I'm probably using way too many labels but I am combining personal documents with business related documents so my needs may be greater than most.

    In any case, I am aware that I can have labels suggested by entering comma delimited strings of text that may be found in a document. While this is a very nice feature, it isn't 100% and I find myself having to review and label every document since I don't really have control over what is…

  9. Stop forcing potential customers to supply a credit/debit card to access the free trial

    Dear eDoc Management,

    Even though we like the eDoc system and are currently considering using it we feel that the policy of forcing potential customers to supply payment details to access the trial to be somewhat heavy handed, even draconian, and does not paint eDoc in a good light.

    May we humbly inspire management to review this policy as it comes across as sneaky and that makes people nervous about trusting eDoc with their precious documents.

  10. Why not group all the search fields together - current approach is sloppy

    Why not have one search window grouping all search functions together in a hierarchy. So the first would be the global search then the label search finally the results filtered by filters window.

    Then put rollover or liked search tips right next to each search field to help guide the searches. For instance the global search accepts wildcard characters and quotes but I keep forgetting the format to use them correctly.

  11. When Merging documents - offer option to Merge Away the originals

    Merging documents creates a new document. I then have to delete the originals
    Either make the new document fundamentally different or have an indicator of which document is the new MERGED document. Or merge away and get rid of the originals. OR best yet just offer a choice to merge the originals away or not.

    The most annoying - thing is that I can't tell after the merge which document is the one I just created.

  12. Move the big Red Delete button

    I don't like the Red Delete button - maybe it's just me but I keep having the tendency to click on that button and accidentally delete documents.

    I think it's too similar to the Windows X out.
    Anyway please move it, or lock it so it's 2 step process, or change the icon.
    Why ?? but i hit that button when I don't mean to.

    And don't put it any closer to the X out in the right corner.

  13. Labels

    You should have the labels in the document view in the same order as the Label Selection view. Instead from document to document they are all jumbled up and it is difficult to decide if something is missing. It would also be helpful if labels could be selected but not show up in the Documents Preview area. This would also help in confirming quickly that similar documents (based on a search) have the same labels (except for dates).

  14. Add fields for action dates and destruction dates with search capability and reminders

    These features would go a long way to making paperless a more viable option. Often a document is received which needs action at a future date (e.g. an invoice). Even if it is scanned, the hard copy is kept around as a reminder to deal with it at some time in the future. If there were reminders (which worked with task managers such as Outlook even) which prompted some action for a particular document, the hard copy could be discarded right away.

    Also, as the repository fills up, many documents become obsolete and get in the way. If a destruction…

  15. eDoc Organizer for two home computers

    Allow two home computers to share a common database on one of the computers or a cloud drive on the home net work. Alternatively, offer an input only license so multiple computers can create documents that can be imported into the master database.

  16. allow multiple lines in notes when adding documents

    When first adding a document, either via scanning or import, the text box for notes does not accept newlines. Hitting 'enter' will always save the document and close the dialog. Once the document is saved in my archive, I am able to open it and add more lines to my note. This behavior with the 'enter' key is only when the document is first created / imported

  17. Backup and Restore Timestamps

    I have two eDoc Home Edition installations that I "sync" using the Backup and Restore functions of eDoc. To keep from over-writing the most current database on one machine by the other machine's older database, it would be great to have the latest Backup and Restore timestamps displayed somewhere in the main window, File/Property or Help/About main menu sections of eDoc.

    Also, a safeguard should exists that prompts the end user with a warning if the timestamp of the Backup Restore is earlier than that of the current timestamp of the database of the machine being restored to. Currently, eDoc…

  20. Export documents in multiple folders by label or document name pattern

    I want to export my files in a predefined folder. (That is now possible)
    But all files should be written into a defined subfolders.

    e.g. All files labeled with taxes should be automaticaly stored in a subfolder taxes

    or I name my files with a special pattern
    e.g. company - year - type
    While export I can define a pattern to store the exported files in subfolders.
