  1. Allow User Selection of Database and Scanned Files Locations

    This is for the On-Premise edition of eDoc Organizer. It would be great if, during install, the user can chose the location of the database, and also during scanning, be able to choose the storage location of the scanned files. I personally don't like storing any kind of data on drive C: unless I have to.

  2. Enabling Server side folder monitors

    Server side folder monitoring would streamline this product. Many users might not want to run the client during the entire business day to keep the database current with newly added documents.

  3. More Human Friendly Searching

    Sometimes the OCR can't determine whether a character is a 0 or an O.
    Howabout if the search feature tried all combinations of such easily mistaken characters?
    Either that or have dictionary based OCR like omni*age.

  5. Apply Tags to documents imported from Watched Folders, based on document content

    I have a lot of documents that are already in PDF format and I would like to import them into eDO. I set up a watched folder and ensured that the eDO Tags all had "Suggest this label" checked (they are all set with the label the same as the Tag -- 'June' Tag had 'June' as the suggested label)

    When I drag one of my PDF documents to the watched folder, eDO does import it, but no tags are applied. The labels I have in eDO are definitely in the PDF, and the PDF was originally a download, not…

    able to start an edit on a single label group and populate it with a number of text entries without having to do multiple separate edit sessions, requiring the user to identify the label group and adding one text for each session

  7. Create a drop down menu when entering the same name that is used often.

    Like in Microsoft excel, when entering a name in the same column, the name will automatically start typing the name so you don't have to retype it all over each time. So if I were to start typing in the name W in a new document being saved, it would come up with the Word "Walmart", or "Workman's Comp File", or "Western Gear", because you have already used it as a name already. Again reducing the amount of time having to type the name for a new document each and every time.

  8. Archive documents based on current selected filters

    To make archiving easier than selecting 50 documents at a time, the feature should support adding all found documents for the selected filters to a new single PDF and the single documents that were combined moved to the recycle bin. This way, if a user wants to archive a years worth of documents and also want to keep finances separate from legal documents in an archive the user only has to select the documents from the year and finances labels for those documents to be archived.

  9. Thumbnail Hover Popup Should Detail The Number Of Pages In PDF Document

    The popup lists the database name and size of the databased document. For merging documents considerations, and for more descriptive general detail of the document for the user, the popup should detail the number of current pages in the PDF.

  10. Allow reordering of lables within a lable group by dragging. Current method is very, Very slow.

    When reordering labels, it is very slow. I would also suggest allowing an auto reorganize within a given label grroup based on the number of times a label has been used with the more usaged label going to the top, etc.

  11. Allow removal of a label from multiple documents

    You can select multiple documents and apply a label to all of them but you cannot remove a label from multiple documents. You need to remove it from every document separately which is painful.

  12. In the scan wizard area, allow multiple selections to perform such actions as rotate and add a flip (two rotates)

    I frequently need to perform the same action on multiple docs I have just scanned and have to do them one at a time.

    For the flip (two right turns) I frequently scan a doc from the tail first to prevent the head end from jamming due to staple holes or just having a ragged top. A flip would save 50% of the turn moves.

  13. To compress data when we back up

    I have zip my backup and save about half the size of the original backup. Can you introduce an option to be able to create compress backup directly from the software...

    Why is there no information on the New versions on you help site? You conned me into buying it now you just leave it with the version you said you don't support anymore. Funny how that happens.

  15. encrypt all files in the edoc database

    I was surprised to see you can double click any document in the external edoc database and have it loaded in adobe reader. It would be nice to have all these files encrypted without requiring to setup and type in a password for each document.

  16. eDoc Organizer for two home computers

    Allow two home computers to share a common database on one of the computers or a cloud drive on the home net work. Alternatively, offer an input only license so multiple computers can create documents that can be imported into the master database.

  19. Run in background without taking over the foreground.

    At the moment, the whole computer is taken over while scanning is occurring. Every page through the ADF brings the Edoc window to the foreground.
    Also, If you have a scan in progress and print to Edoc Printer, the whole thing crashes :)

  20. Why not group all the search fields together - current approach is sloppy

    Why not have one search window grouping all search functions together in a hierarchy. So the first would be the global search then the label search finally the results filtered by filters window.

    Then put rollover or liked search tips right next to each search field to help guide the searches. For instance the global search accepts wildcard characters and quotes but I keep forgetting the format to use them correctly.
