This feature has now been released as part of version 3.1 of eDoc Organizer for Windows Vista and Windows 7. We are currently working on adapting it to Windows XP in the next release.

Karlie - I have changed my mind. Please include .eml in the other filetypes to be imported. I believe I have found a way to do what I want.

No problem at all :) This is why we have been very selective about the file formats that we let you import in eDO. But I think the thumbnail is not essential to everybody and the ability to manage other document types even without thumbnails could be beneficial.

No Karlie you are right without the thumbnail to review what the email is about would be worthless for me. I can print the email & import in PDF but I thought it would be great to have access to the email w/all attachments through eDoc's capabilities. Thus never losing it and removing it from an already overloaded Outlook E xpress. Sorry I wasted your time.

HI Patti,
One of the issues we face with implementing this feature is that we cannot get thumbnail images of all file types. It would be very hard if not impossible to get a thumbnail image of the .eml file. So now it becomes harder for you to figure out what email is which while tagging. The original filename will not be an issue as eDO can add that to the comment field while importing these documents. Will this feature even be useful to you without the thumbnail?

I use Outlook Express and can save my emails in .eml format which includes the Email's attachments in the file. I would not need to open the eml file while in eDoc but looking at the email so that I know what it is about and the name of the file is important for retrieving it.
