  1. Ability to reorder Labels and LabelGroups

    From gcmckee: I think what would be much more useful to me would be the flexibility to order the sequence of the various labels as they appear on the margin, or the wizard. For example, I have several separate corporations or entities. In searching for a document in my database, I like to be able have my my labels ordered by relevance, with the most relevant criteria, at the top, I.E., the name of the corporate entity, thereby eliminating all irrelevant documents from the other corporate entities; next the year, ....and so on in my order of relevant criteria, rather…

  3. Add Recycle Bin type functionality to eDoc Organizer

    If a user accidentally deletes a file from eDoc Organizer, there is no way to recover it. At the very least eDoc Organizer should send the file to the computer's recycle bin so that it can be recovered. It would be even great if a recycle bin type feature could be added to eDoc Organizer so that you can recover the labels, comments and other attributes of the file as well.

    Available in version 4.2 of eDoc Organizer Business Edition.

    After further consideration we have decided to add this feature to the Business Edition of eDoc Orgnaizer. For the home edition, deleted documents will be sent to the Windows Recycle Bin for recoverability.

  4. unique searchable name (ID) for each Document

    The name/ID can be used in other documents to reference eDoc-documents.
    Also the ID can be written on the scanned paperdocument with pen to create a link between digital and physical world.

  6. Allow "add imported pfd" to an existing document (instead of adding by scanning)

    We can add pages to a document by scanning. If we download a statement for example, we can import it, them merge it, then delete the old two files.....but we can not just add it to a previous document.

  8. improve security granularity

    It would be better if you could assign permissions per user, per tag. So i could have a tag "personal" and only certain people could see it. or another example "Financial" and only the boss/finance people could see the documents in the category.

  9. do not force users to enter new file name when exporting documents and when sending as attachment

    Why can not I just use existing (original) file name and just export/send it as attachment - very irritating and time consuming at the moment

  10. Give eDoc the option to link with other OCR software (e.g. FineReader or Omni 18) for improved text recognition and speed

    eDoc Organizer can integrate with other Scanning and OCR applications via the use of Folder Monitors (Tools > Configure Folder Monitors menu item). Folder Monitors allow eDoc Organizer to detect and automatically import any documents that are added to a particular folder on the computer. You can configure your OCR application to write the output to a certain directory on your computer and then configure eDoc Organizer to import those files automatically via the Folder Monitors.

  11. Combined Search Experience

    Combine Label Search, Comment Search and Advanced Search functions all in one text box so I do all these kind of searches all at once.

  12. Filter Changes

    The ability to use boolean operators in the filter along with the labels. Eg. I have a label called PAID that I assign to a bill once paid. It would be nice to filter by NOT (the operator) PAID (the label). That way I don't have to create a label called UNPAID and assign it to all bills as I bring them in. Also adding AND, OR operators would be helpful.

    eDoc Organizer Search has been redesigned from the ground up and does not not rely on Windows Search anymore. AND, OR and NOT qualifiers are now supported in Search queries.

    e.g. The following types of searches are now supported:

    NOT Paid
    Electric AND NOT Paid
    Electric OR Phone

  13. Automatically correct document orientation

    In order for the OCR to pick up keywords correctly the documents have to be scanned in the correct orientation. This possible human error could lead to some items not being labeld correctly. It would be really good if it could autiomatically correct the orientation before running ocr.

  14. Either accept or Reject Ideas - There is no idea that has been accepted and being worked on.

    You should make decision - there is no point asking users for suggestions when you do not want to do something about these. You have not even added comment on many of the ideas, which are quite good and relevant.

  16. Vitrual print driver

    In order to truly implement a paperless office you need to be able to store things which you may want to print from a web site. Or anywhere actually. So, rather like the PDF creating ‘virtual printers’, why not have your own virtual printer which will create an eDoc entry?

  17. feature request / questions

    I currently have PaperPort 9 Pro Office and have also upgraded to version 12 Standard. However, I will probably get my money back on version 12. The main reason I love your program is that it's compatible with Thunderbird for sending emails!! Smiley

    There are a couple of features that I'd like to see and would like to know if you're already working on them, what the status is, etc...

  19. Exporting documents

    You recently kindly implemented the 'Export All documents', however, I still need the old functionality as well. I want to select all my tax documents with a single label and just export those. In fact, I would like to export all documents with a single label even without selecting them.
    For example a label 'Tax return April 5th 2012'. There are more documents than fit on a page (>50).
    Unless I've missed something, I could do it before but only in groups of 50.

    There are two ways to export multiple documents in eDoc Organizer.
    1. The export toolbar button: This button allows you to export all documents that are selected only in the current page.
    2. File > Export All/Filtered Documents : This option lets you export documents on all pages.

    To export only documents that you select, please use option #1. To export all documents with a single label, filter by that label and use option #2.

  20. Quick Tag Search In Document Properties

    When prompted to select tags it would be nice to have a free text box that I can use to quickly find tags as I enter text in. For example typing s and having all tags and categories beginning with s appear.
