Auto tagging based on Content
This would be a killer app if it would recognize scanned documents based on what it learned. It can learn bank statements, bills and company logo's. It can also grab dates from scanned documents.
With this information it will recognize a scanned document that hits the inbox and automatically add tags.
Example: Verizon, bill, phone, march, 2011
I have to approve or update these before they move to the 'big pile'.37 voteseDoc Organizer Version 4 with this feature is now available for download.

-—————————————————————————
Folder monitoring support has how been added to eDoc Organizer. The current implementation is not an active sync between the folder being monitored and eDoc Organizer. During import the file in the monitored folder can either be deleted or moved to a backup folder. This is more of a traditional implementaiton of Folder Monitoring.
This feature is now undergoing more testing. We expect to release it in the next update to eDoc Organizer before the end of 2011.

Version Control
There needs to be away of importing a new version of a document and to be able to write comments for each version to be able to track changes to the document. You also need to be able to pull up and open past versions. Version control is one of the most important features of a document management software. I would definitely buy this software if it had some form of version control.
29 votesVersion Control is now implemented and will be available in version 4.6 and above of eDoc Organizer Business and Enterprise Editions. More details will be made available on our website and blog soon.

create an eDO virtual printer to convert, save and label your documents all at once
What is needed is a way to save and label documents and print them to a .PDF file, all at once. e.g. if I am printing a receipt from the internet, I could just use an eDO virtual printer to both create the .PDF, label and save it all in one. The new "drag and drop" feature in version 2.1.1.0 is super, but.... you still have to save your document first, and then drag and drop. What I am suggesting is a virtual printer that would allow you to save your document to a file in .PDF format and import/…
28 voteseDoc Organizer Virtual Printer is now released as part of version 3.4 release of eDoc Organizer. It can be installed from the Application Options dialog, that can be accessed using the Tools > Options menu item.

All you have to do is add a blank page between your documents and select the “Separate doccuments at blank pages” option in the scan dialog during the scanning.

allow renaming of files
It would be nice if I could actually rename the documents that I put into eDO. When I email documents, they need to be named whatever I name them to begin with. When they're imported, they lose the file name. :(
